Your Bio

My name is Susan Labrum I have been a graphic designer/digital illustrator for over 12 years. I enjoy photography and my favorite software is Adobe Photoshop. My goal is to bring everything into focus with clarity, rich colors and textures that only the eye can see. To have you experience through my eyes what I have seen in hopes to evoke a feeling, emotion or reaction. I have a visual voice.

Newport Oregon Whale's Tale Restaurant. The rich colors and textures grabbed my eye. I have memories of old screen doors and the sounds they make. I closed my eyes and heard the sound of seagulls whose calls coasted on the wind and water lapping at boats as they rocked where they were docked. The smells ranged from cool breezes that carried with it salt water and fish to a candy store with the smell of caramel corn and fudge that permeated the air as I walked closer to its entrance.

HDR Tutorial-before & after : For those who are doing HDR don't push the effect too far or else you get a sky that is dirty looking and has banding. Try this instead: after you do the effect bring into Photoshop the HDR image and the original photo and addthe original as the top layer, next place a layer mask on it. Paint out the of the mask the part of the image that you want to show from the HDR photo. Now that you can see the two layers together play with the original to make it a cohesive photo by using adjustment layers (this will not destroy your photo's). Good Luck!
